Henry and Margaret Plant filled the Tampa Bay Hotel with an eclectic collection of late 19th century statues, sculptures, and treasures meant to impress the hotel guests and visitors. The core of the Museum collection is composed of these rare and exotic finds. Many sculptures represent classical figures from Greek and Roman art, busts of royalty, animals, and 19th century literary figures.
