Clocks & Mirrors

Permanent Collection

ornate oval mirror with rectangular frame
Henry and Margaret Plant purchased opulent and dramatic timekeeping devices and mirrors from France to fill the Tampa Bay Hotel. The core of the Henry Plant Museum collection is composed of these rare and exotic finds. Victorian clocks and mirrors were designed on an elaborate scale, highly decorated and ornate. Over twenty Venetian style mirrors with beveled, incised, and hand-made glass survive today. Click on any of the images below for more information on an item.
