Signed William Keith (1839-1931). Born in Scotland, died in Berkeley, California. Came to NY in 1850 to study art and worked as an engraver for Scribner's until 1861. Impressed by the grandeur and simple beauty of America's far west and painted many scenes on the Pacific coast.
