This circa 1910 view of the roof provides a bird’s eye view of the minarets, cupolas and one of the three domes. Each tower was crowned with a gold crescent moon, a decorative element inspired by the Moorish architectural style seen in North Africa and parts of Spain and Portugal. Dotting the roof are the chimneys for the guestrooms’ fireplaces.
