Signed: A. Bachelin on proper lower left. Depicts two Victorian ladies and a gentleman conversing next to a mountainside niche. Back of canvas is stamped: "Tuiles tableaux et Couleurs/ Latouche/ Rue de Lafayette, 34/ Encadrements".
Artist: Auguste Bachelin (b. 1830 in Neuchatel- d. 1890 in Bern) Painter of history, genre, landscapes. This was most likely one of the paintings that was displayed in the art gallery space in the mezzazine of the hotel lobby.
