Baluster shaped jardiniere, blue and white transfer ware.  

Underside impressed "DOULTONS" in two places on the bottom.  Hallmark on bottom also fired into glaze in brown:  Crown shape at top, round crest symbol with words: DOULTON  on top   BURSLEM on bottom.  

Quote from 1992 Curator Katherine Ellis of the Sir Henry Doulton Gallery; "A stunning Doulton pot, also dating from between 1886 and 1891."
