FREE Movie Screening!

Tampa Theatre & Henry B. Plant Museum Present:
GRAND HOTEL

Join Tampa Theatre in partnership with the Henry B. Plant Museum for a FREE community screening of Grand Hotel on Saturday, November 14, at 1:00 PM in the Grand Salon of the University of Tampa’s Plant Hall, originally the opulent Tampa Bay Hotel.

A story of glamour and intrigue, MGM’s star-studded classic opened at Tampa Theatre on December 10, 1932. Relive the early decades of Tampa’s moviegoing experience in Cigar City Cinema: Tampa Goes to the Movies, 1897-1936, a special exhibit at the Henry B. Plant Museum. Explore the exhibit for FREE following the movie.

After the film, join us for a brief post-film talk with Charles Groh, Ph.D., Executive Director of the Henry B. Plant Museum, and Joey Hager, Operations Manager at Tampa Theatre.

Ticket not required for this event.

Mirroring the luxury resort setting of the movie Grand Hotel, these photos capture the splendor of the grand salon. Designed to comfortably seat about 100 guests, the bustling space once offered panoramic views of arriving and departing trains. Several original furnishings from this historic room are now featured in the Museum's permanent collection.
