The Henry B. Plant Museum hosts a wide variety of programming.

Start your weekend at the Henry B. Plant Museum. One Friday each month, the Museum offers free admission from 4:30-7:00 pm. Enjoy special programs, including short films and curator conversations.
 
Friday, June 6, 4:30-7:00 pm
Join the curator of our special exhibit Dressed for Success: Fashioning Manhood at the Tampa Bay Hotel for an in-depth conversation that highlights actors of the Gilded Age stage and their most famous roles. Our theater room features multiple showings of the 2025 documentary March of the Black Hussars: Viennese Operetta in America (34 minutes), filmed on location at the Tampa Theatre and the Henry B. Plant Museum.
 
Friday, July 11, 4:30-7:00 pm
It’s Christmas in July at the Henry B. Plant Museum. A special curator conversation explores how hotel guests and staff celebrated the holidays in the 1890s. Our theater room features film footage from past years of the Victorian Christmas Stroll, Tampa’s favorite holiday tradition. Visit the Museum Store for ornaments and holiday décor. Museum members receive a 20% discount on holiday items.

The Tampa Bay Hotel, now home to the Henry B. Plant Museum and the University of Tampa, is a national historic landmark in recognition of its role in the Spanish-American War. A special curator conversation explores life in Tampa during the tumultuous summer of 1898. Our theater room features multiple showings of Letters from Tampa: Two Spanish-American War Stories (17 minutes), a 2019 documentary.
