This important new exhibit will open in March 2021. It provides a unique snapshot of race relations in Tampa from the year 1912. In that year, Booker T. Washington gave a speech at the Tampa Bay Casino before an audience of both white and black Americans. Washington was popular with both groups, who heard very different messages in his speech.
