The Museum brings history to life in the community through our Our and About with Upstairs Downstairs program.  Hear Curator of Education Melissa Sullebarger speak about the history and importance of the Tampa Bay Hotel.  After the talk, step back in time and enjoy a single-character performance of a turn-of–the-century Tampa Bay Hotel staff member.  A question and answer session will round out the event.

This will be an in-person event with appropriate social distancing.
Based on original research conducted by the Henry Plant Museum, the character Arthur Schleman, the dashing Tampa Bay Hotel hunting and fishing guide, is adept at trapping all kinds of game, as well as hunting on horseback to avoid rattlesnakes. Mr. Schleman is a true storyteller who has definite opinions about everything from horseless carriages, called motorcars, to past and current events.  He can recite poetry by heart and is a would-be gentleman of means.  Arthur Schleman is played by actor Dan Khoury.
