Location

The Henry B. Plant Museum is located at 401 W. Kennedy Boulevard, Tampa, FL 33606, approximately one mile off I-275 on the campus of The University of Tampa. From southbound I-275, take exit 45A to Downtown West, Ashley Drive. Proceed seven traffic lights to Kennedy Boulevard, turn right, cross bridge, and proceed 1/4 mile to The University of Tampa on your right. From northbound I-275, take exit 44, Ashley Drive, and proceed seven traffic lights to Kennedy Boulevard. Turn right on Kennedy Boulevard, cross the bridge and we are located 1/4 mile down on the right. As you enter The University of Tampa campus, you will see Plant Hall, the large building with the silver minarets on top. We are located at the end of that building closest to Kennedy Boulevard. There is a sign on the front lawn and flags at our entrance.

Free parking is available in front of the Museum or in the parking garage two blocks away at the corner of North Boulevard and North "B" Street. The Museum is wheelchair accessible.

Hours

The Henry B. Plant Museum and the Museum Store are open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday, 12 Noon to 5 pm. Closed Mondays (Jan-Nov), Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Museum will be closed Saturday, January 28th, due to The University of Tampa closing parking facilities to the public on Gasparilla.

 

Admission

January - November: $10 for adults, $7 for seniors, $7 for students and $5 for children 4 - 12 years. Henry B. Plant Museum members are admitted at no charge. During the month of December there is special pricing for the Victorian Christmas Stroll.

Tours

You will begin your tour with a 14-minute introductory video entitled "The Tampa Bay Hotel: Florida's First Magic Kingdom". The self-guided tour continues with a brochure and signs in each room of the Museum. Tour sheets are available in French and Spanish. You will want to experience our hand-held audio tour. The 45-minute production offers a deeper understanding of the history of the Tampa Bay Hotel, while transporting you to a time and place of yesteryear. The audio tour includes oral histories, interviews, archival information, readings of primary source materials, multiple commentators, voices, music and sound effects. It is available with Museum admission. Guided tours Tuesday and Thursday at 1:00 pm. No reservations required but you must be in the lobby by 1:00 pm 1:00 pm tours are not available during the Victorian Christmas Stroll from December 1-31.  Reservations are needed for groups of 20 or more.
